Chicken Smoothie generally strives to be as low-stress and simple as it can :

• pets dont need to be fed and will never die
• there is no daily login bonus or requirement
• there is no breeding system
• only completely free pets/items count towards a full collection. anything purchased is considered to be "extra" by the game and is not required
• your account will never be deleted, even if you've been inactive since the site began

i thought youd never ask!

• dress ups!
  • there are tons of collectable items you can use to dress up your pets, or just to collect on their own
  • every month there are new themed dress-up challenges you can enter your dressed up pets in. submissions have a chance to get featured on the site's homepage
• scenes!
  • scenes are like dress-ups big sibling!
  • you can place and dress-up multiple pets using the same canvas or "scene"
  • if you choose to add other users to your scene, they can add their own pets and items
  • you can use scenes as your "forum signature" a little secion at the end of each of your posts that shows off your personality
• trading!
  • not every pet has the same rarity, in fact pets have 11 different rarity levels ranging from OMG So Common to OMG So Rare
  • when adopting from a "litter" your outcomes are randomly generated, usually requiring you to trade with other users, adopt from the pound, or visit user-run adoption centers to collect all the outcomes
  • trading is a large part of the site, but is obviously not necessary to do!
• collecting!
  • a playstyle where a user chooses to get one of each pet/item, usually following a specific criteria such as species, artist, year, event, etc
  • we have built-in tools in the archive to help keep track of these things
• hoarding!
  • a playstyle where a user collects multiple of a pet/item, usually following specific criteria like outcome, litter, species, artist, etc
  • some users have a set number of pets/items they want to reach, others have unlimited hoards, to see just how big they can grow

a bunch!

• forums! just in general
  • at its core Chicken Smoothie is a forum based site, which means that users can create topics of discussion in the appropriate forum or general category. for example, you could make a topic on favourite ice-cream flavour in the general discussion forum. any user can post a comment on that topic, leading to community interaction
  • theres a wide variety of communities, forums, and topics to post in with lots of kind and interesting users to talk too
• oekaki!
  • an on-site art program where users can create and share art!
  • theres a thriving art community, with user made species and adoptables, art shops, comics, competitions, editable drawings that you can color in, avatars you can use, etc
  • any art done on the oekaki has the chance to become a featured drawing on the homepage, showing off your art to all users
  • there is also the general creativity forums for things like writing, user made species and adoptables, off-site art sharing, etc
  • Chicken Smoothie takes art theft and usage requirements very seriously. moderators make sure art is properly sourced, users are following the rules of the creator, and any theft is reported
• roleplay!
  • there are designated roleplay forums on Chicken Smoothie, for group or one on one roleplays
  • you can have private, or public roleplays on all sorts of different topics

quite a few!

i would describe the site as having different 'tiers' of events. there are the big events that happen every year, mini-events that happen every, or almost every year, and random mini-events that happen without warning and arent guaranteed to repeat. lets go through each in turn

big events

• easter
  • around easter time, we have a site-wide easter egg hunt. banners will appear around the forums, and will give a token when clicked. these tokens can be traded for pets and items only available during the event. this same formula is the same for all three 'banner centric' events
• the summer event
  • every summer there is a different themed event with npc's, an event map, and storylines. they share the same banner mechanic as easter
  • some past event have been themed around slumber parties, space, the ocean, the jungle, and going to summer camp
• halloween
• another banner event, just like easter and summer
• the christmas advent calander
  • this event doesnt include banners, and instead has a new set of pets or items to adopt every day. these can only be adopted on that specific day
  • every December 18th every user is allowwed to adopt three randomized, old, high rarity pets. these are called '"re-releases" because theyve been.. re-released for us to adopt

yearly mini-events

these tend to well, repeat every year. these include (but arent limited to) lunar new year, april fools, the site aniversary, Hanukkah, and staff litters

one-off mini-events

these can be based on anything, and are chosen by staff

anyone!

Chicken Smoothie is set up and heavily moderated to be safe and enjoyable for children under 13, but older users are explicitly allowed, and encouraged to play

both content on the site, and any content linked to the site, have to follow the site rules. moderators are super nice, and are happy to answer questions, resolve issues, and correct users when they make mistakes

players in the us under the age of 13 are given the COPPA role, which restricts what the account can do and how other users are allowed to interact with them
